We’re pleased to announce NewsWhip as the latest sponsor of news:rewired, Journalism.co.uk’s digital journalism conference.

The one-day event takes place on Friday 20 September at MSN UK’s offices in Victoria, London. The agenda is filled with presentations, demonstrations and practical workshops aimed at sharing the latest techniques and tools for producing the best digital journalism.

Announcing Scoopshot as latest news:rewired sponsor

Scoopshot will sponsor news:rewired, and join the verification workshop alongside Storyful’s Claire Wardle.

Scoopshot helps news outlets collect images from the crowd, with users able to download Scoopshot’s app and then receive image-related tasks from the media.

Scoopshot’s vice president Eric Siereveld will join the verification workshop, in which he will discuss Scoopshot’s own authenticity tools for its clients. Journalism.co.uk reported on how Scoopshot handles verification last year.

The verification workshop is also being run by Storyful’s director of news services Claire Wardle, who will outline some of the key verification tools and techniques, to ensure news outlets are able to separate fact from fiction, often in breaking news events.

Los Angeles Times’s Jimmy Orr to deliver news:rewired keynote

Jimmy Orr will deliver the keynote presentation at news:rewired on 20 September.

He’ll talk about the LA Times’s transformation to digital, sharing key lessons learnt.

Orr has had careers in both journalism and politics. He served as chief internet strategist for both President George Bush and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also served as a White House spokesman for President Bush.

LinkedIn to run workshop for journalists at news:rewired

The next news:rewired digital journalism conference, which takes place on Friday 20 September, will cover a range of subjects, including breaking news, verification, mapping and online video.

The agenda will also offer a variation of session styles, from panel discussions and case-study presentations, to more practical workshops.

One of the workshops which will be on offer to delegates at the event will focus on LinkedIn, giving delegates a run-through of the different features available to help them in their news.

The workshop will be run by Richard George, corporate communications manager, EMEA, LinkedIn and Darain Faraz, communications manager, LinkedIn.

Here at Journalism.co.uk we’ve been busy working on ideas for our next news:rewired digital journalism conference, which takes place in London on Friday 20 September.

It is our tenth event, the second so far in 2013, and we’re planning a jam-packed day of inspiring presentations, practical workshops, expert tips and techniques and plenty of food-for-thought.
