The next newsrewired digital journalism conference is taking place on 8 February at Reuters in Canary Wharf, London.
The Journalism.co.uk team is currently finalising the agenda, but before we can publish the full programme, we are pleased to announce speakers from Quartz, Al Jazeera, The Sun and IBT Media will be joining our expert line-up at the event.
The day will feature a mix of workshops and panel discussions about the latest tools, trends and techniques in digital journalism, including live social video, automation, collaboration, news games and more.

Joining us on the day will be:
Lauren Brown, special projects editor for Quartz. She develops high-concept, ambitious journalistic projects and is responsible for coordinating the design, marketing, and editorial efforts behind them. Lauren will join the Guardian’s Francesca Panetta on a panel discussing collaboration in the newsroom and the impact of special projects.
Juliana Ruhfus, senior reporter for Al Jazeera’s People & Power investigative and current affairs strand. She worked on producing Al Jazeera’s news games, from its first ever project of this kind, Pirate Fishing, to the most recent, #Hacked, which takes players inside the cyberwar in Syria. In a short talk, Juliana will give insights into the process of creating Hacked, and explain the benefits of using gaming techniques for storytelling.
Alfred Joyner, head of video at IBT Media.Alfred is responsible for managing video production of news, interviews and special features for both the International Business Times UK and Newsweek Europe. He will take part in our opening panel exploring the technical, editorial and ethical aspects of livestreaming on social media, together with Sue Llewellyn and more speakers to be announced soon. Emma Fulton, director of digital strategy and operations at The Sun. Emma, who has been with News Corp in various roles since 2012, recently led The Sun’s new website launch. She is now working in The Sun’s digital newsroom, helping to shape its online presence and attract new audiences to The Sun online. At newsrewired, she will discuss The Sun’s work with automated journalism so far, highlighting recent projects such as The Sun’s Facebook Messenger bot, as well as outlining the processes where automation was intentionally not used.Find out more about the programme here.
Delegates can also register for newsrewired+, which will give them access to the conference on 8 February and one of three hands-on workshops the following day. Newsrewired+ tickets are available for £368 +VAT.
