On Thursday 20 February, we will be running the next instalment of our digital journalism conference, news:rewired, which will look at key tools, techniques and skills being harnessed by newsrooms in the UK and further afield, and some of the big challenges and opportunities facing online publishers today.
As well as the one-day conference, we are also offering an additional half-day of training, consisting of a series of three, three-hour workshops the following day (Friday 21 February). These will be held at the same venue as news:rewired, MSN UK’s offices in Cardinal Place, Victoria, London.
Tickets for the workshops only are just £90 +VAT, and can be booked via the course page for each workshop. Alternatively they can be paired with a news:rewired ticket for £220 +VAT.
The three options are:
Tutor: KettleCorn
Brief description: A masterclass in creating web-native video, in which attendees will be able to create an interactive video from scratch using KettleCorn, which evolved out of Popcorn Maker, and was made with journalists in mind.
Tutor: Esa Mäkinen, news editor, data journalism, Helsingin Sanomat
Brief description: A hands-on workshop focused on how to tell data-driven stories using visualisations, with tutorials in using free tools such as Datawrapper and Timeline JS, and a chance for delegates to create their own visualisation within the workshop.
3. Searching social media and verification
