Newsrewired is proud to support Reporters Without Borders and the Journalism Trust Initiative in their mission to reinforce trust in the media at such a crucial time.
“We are thrilled to announce our participation in Newsrewired as a pivotal moment for the launch of the Journalism Trust Initiative in the UK,” said Benjamin Sabbah, director of the Journalism Trust Initiative.
“With the maturity of its news ecosystem, the country provides an ideal platform to collaborate with major actors of the advertising industry and news aggregators to establish a systematic approach that ensures trust and integrity in journalism.”
“With public trust in the news at an all-time low and the dangers posed by generative AI in creating and spreading false information fast and cheaply, trustworthy professional journalism has never been more needed,” said Marcela Kunova, editor at Journalism.co.uk and Newsrewired organiser.
The Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) is a global project designed to help news organisations build trust with their audiences. The JTI provides a set of indicators that news organisations can use to assess their own trustworthiness and transparency.
Newsrewired will take place on 22 May at NewsUK. The conference will feature a keynote address by Ringier Media International CEO Dmitry Shishkin, as well as a panel discussion on the future of trust in journalism.
